Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked several rural communities on the western outskirts of Musawa town in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, forcing residents to flee their homes.
The development was disclosed by northern security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X on Sunday.
According to the report, the attackers invaded communities around Musawa and rustled large numbers of cattle during the assault.
The attack reportedly triggered panic among residents, with many families abandoning their homes and seeking refuge in Musawa town.
Bakatsine stated that women and children displaced by the attack are currently stranded without adequate shelter, food, or humanitarian support.
He noted that the situation has been worsened by ongoing rainfall and harsh weather conditions affecting displaced families.
“Humanitarian assistance is urgently needed for the affected families,” he wrote.
The security analyst also called on security agencies to intensify operations within Musawa Local Government Area and surrounding communities in order to prevent further attacks.
He stressed the need for immediate intervention to protect vulnerable residents facing growing insecurity in the area.
The latest incident adds to continuing concerns over banditry and attacks on rural communities across parts of northern Nigeria, where residents frequently face displacement, cattle rustling, and violent raids.
