President Bola Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tinubu was declared winner of the party’s presidential primary election conducted nationwide on Saturday, May 23.
According to reports, the exercise was held across the country’s 8,809 wards covering all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
The President contested against APC chieftain and businessman Stanley Osifo from Edo State, who emerged as his only challenger during the primary election.
Following the conclusion of the exercise, Tinubu was officially presented with the party’s Certificate of Return and APC flag as the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 election.
The development officially positions Tinubu as the APC candidate seeking another term in office ahead of what is expected to be a highly contested presidential race in 2027.
