Content creator King Mitchy has insisted she owes no one an apology as tensions continue between her and controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan.
In a strongly worded post shared on her social media page, Mitchy defended her actions, arguing that anyone who publicly calls out others must also be prepared to face criticism in return.
According to her, what she did was rooted in accountability, not malice. She accused supporters of her rival of attacking her relentlessly while overlooking the emotional damage done to people he frequently criticises online.
“I don’t owe anyone an apology. If you can call people out, be ready to be called out too. It’s called accountability,” she wrote, adding that she has been unfairly targeted by online trolls.
Mitchy’s remarks come shortly after a disturbing incident in which she consumed a harmful household substance during a livestream, following intense backlash linked to the online feud.
The incident sparked widespread concern across social media, with many Nigerians urging influencers and activists alike to consider the mental health impact of prolonged online harassment.
The dispute between both parties escalated after Mitchy publicly challenged VeryDarkMan to use funds raised through his NGO for tangible projects such as school renovations. The call-out quickly degenerated into personal attacks, accusations, and a highly polarised online battle between their supporters.
