Desmond Elliot, lawmaker representing Surulere I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has released video footage allegedly showing his supporters being denied accreditation during the All Progressives Congress, APC, state assembly primary election held on Wednesday.
The actor-turned-politician had earlier announced his withdrawal from the race, claiming that his supporters were facing intimidation during the exercise.
Sharing the video on his official Facebook page, Desmond Elliot alleged that several of his supporters were prevented from participating in the accreditation process across multiple polling units.
“There were clear cases of intimidation across different polling units, and my supporters were denied access to accreditation — let alone voting,” he said.
According to him, the events that unfolded during the APC primary election did not reflect democratic principles.
In the viral video, supporters believed to be backing the lawmaker were heard chanting: “All we want is Desmond, give us Desmond.”
The development has sparked reactions online as political tensions continue to build ahead of the 2027 general elections and ongoing party primaries across the country.
As of the time of this report, the APC leadership in Lagos State had not officially responded to the allegations raised by the lawmaker.
