US President Donald Trump has announced that his White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

The president made the announcement on Monday, March 16, stating that Wiles’ prognosis is “excellent” and that she will continue to work full-time at the White House while undergoing treatment.

In a statement posted online, Trump praised Wiles for her dedication to her role despite the diagnosis. He wrote: “Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.”

Trump also highlighted her importance within his administration. “Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People,” he said.

The president added that he expects her to make a full recovery. “She will soon be better than ever! Melania and I are with her in every way, and we look forward to working with Susie on the many big and wonderful things that are happening for the benefit of our Country!”

Wiles made history in 2024 when she became the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff after Trump appointed her following his election victory. She previously played a key role in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, helping lead the strategy that secured his return to the presidency.
