US-Based Nigerian Threatens ₦1 Billion Lawsuit Against VeryDarkMan Over Viral Claims
A Nigerian based in the United States, Kelvin Onyiaeze, has announced plans to file a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

Onyiaeze made the disclosure during a media briefing in Abuja on Friday, following a viral video in which VeryDarkMan allegedly described him as a land grabber.

Reacting to the claims, Onyiaeze strongly denied the allegation and described the statements as false, damaging, and intended to harm his reputation.

He said he is a law abiding United States citizen and a healthcare specialist, insisting that the accusations were baseless.

According to him, the use of social media to spread such claims against private individuals poses a serious risk to reputations and livelihoods.

Onyiaeze also alleged that the comments amount to cyberbullying and misuse of digital platforms, citing concerns over privacy and online harassment.

He called on Nigerian security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services, to investigate the matter and take necessary action.

The businessman further stated that his legal team has been instructed to begin proceedings for a ₦1 billion libel and defamation suit.

As of the time of this report, VeryDarkMan has not publicly responded to the latest allegations or the proposed legal action.

The development adds to a growing list of legal disputes involving online commentary and the use of social media platforms in Nigeria.
