Reality TV star Phyna has reignited controversy around Big Brother Naija after claiming that the organisers never fully paid the prize she won in 2022.

Phyna made the explosive allegation during a recent livestream with her fans, where she openly accused the show’s organisers of owing her key parts of her reward package — nearly four years after she emerged winner.

“I’ve Been Crying, Nobody Believed Me”

Reacting to a fan who asked about the widely publicised ₦100 million grand prize, Phyna dropped a bombshell.

“First of all, them no give me ₦100M. Shebi when I dey cry online una talk say I dey lie. When I dey cry say dem dey owe me, una talk anything?”

According to her, she has repeatedly spoken out about the unpaid prize, but was dismissed, mocked, or accused of lying by the public.

Unpaid Prizes, Missing Benefits

This is not the first time Phyna has raised the issue. In 2024, she publicly accused Multichoice Nigeria, organisers of Big Brother Naija, of failing to deliver the full prize package promised to her.

She claims the outstanding items include:

  • Cash equivalents tied to the ₦100 million prize
  • An all-expenses-paid trip for two
  • Product supplies and benefits from show sponsors

Phyna insists that multiple components of the reward remain unpaid, despite repeated follow-ups.

“It Affected My Career and My Life”

The BBNaija winner revealed that the prolonged delay has taken a serious toll on her personal life and career, forcing her to speak out again — even at the risk of backlash.

She maintained that she did not want to go public initially, but felt pushed to do so after years of silence and inaction.

Multichoice vs Phyna

While Multichoice Nigeria has previously stated that it fulfilled all its obligations to the Season 7 winner, Phyna continues to strongly dispute that claim, saying the reality on ground tells a different story.

Fans React: “Is BBNaija a Scam?”

Her renewed outburst has triggered heated reactions online:

  • “Big Brother still dey owe Phyna till today? Abeg is BBNaija a scam?”
  • “It makes no sense not to pay her since! The show definitely made more than ₦100M.”
  • “So she’s been telling the truth all along?”

Unanswered Questions

As of now, Multichoice Nigeria has not responded to Phyna’s latest claims. With 2026 already underway, many Nigerians are asking:

  • Was the ₦100 million ever fully paid?
  • Why has the dispute dragged on for years?
  • And will Phyna finally get what she says she’s owed?

One thing is clear: this BBNaija prize controversy is far from over.

“When I came online, people didn’t believe me. BBNaija still hasn’t given me the ₦100 million I won.”
