According to Odega, Sam Loco played a major role in teaching him how to act and how to behave in the film industry.
He said the late actor had a special style of acting and did not always follow scripts exactly as written.
“Sam Loco taught me a whole lot. He no dey read script like that. He go look what they write, then rephrase am. I used to carry his bag. I was like his PA just to learn,” he said.
Odega said Sam Loco treated him like a son and even supported him financially during difficult times.
He revealed that the veteran actor sometimes gave him money to take home to his wife, but he did not always give her the full amount.
“Sometimes he would give me money, like 50K to give my wife. When I reach house I go give her 10K. Later I confess to her,” he said jokingly.
The actor explained that following Sam Loco around helped him understand acting better than just reading scripts.
He said the experience shaped his discipline, confidence, and approach to roles in Nollywood.
Sam Loco Efe, who died in 2011, remains one of the most respected actors in Nigerian movie history.
