Armed bandits reportedly disguised in women’s hijabs attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward of Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, leaving several residents dead and many others abducted.

The incident was disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X on Sunday.

Attackers Reportedly Used Disguise

According to the report, the attackers stormed the village at night while wearing women’s hijabs, a move said to have helped them move around without raising suspicion before launching the assault.

During the attack, gunmen reportedly opened fire on residents, killing several people and abducting others to an unknown location.

“Last night, armed bandits reportedly disguised in women’s hijabs attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward, Rabah LGA, Sokoto State. Several residents were killed and many others abducted,” Bakatsine wrote.

Growing Insecurity in Sokoto Communities

The latest incident has raised fresh concerns among residents as attacks continue to occur in different parts of the state.

Local sources say communities in Rabah and nearby areas have recorded repeated raids in recent months, with kidnappings and killings becoming more frequent.

Bakatsine questioned the effectiveness of current security measures, asking what concrete steps are being taken to stop the rising wave of violence
