
Security operatives have arrested scores of suspected kidnappers on Tuesday evening at Olayinka, along the Ajasepo/Igbaja/Oke-Ode highway in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
DAILY POST reports that the suspects allegedly fled Baba Sango after intelligence revealed that bandits’ informants were disguising themselves as beggars and roaming towns and villages across Kwara South Senatorial District.
Security Coordinator Confirms Arrest
Confirming the development on Wednesday, the Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch, Kwara South Senatorial District, Zubair Olaitan, said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to curb crime in the state.
According to him, security operatives received intelligence that bandits from Baba Sango and Oro-Ago were spreading into other areas of Kwara South.
Beggar Informant Arrested, Exposes Sponsors
Olaitan revealed that one of the alleged informants, who was reportedly disguised as a beggar, was caught in Igbaja on Tuesday.
He said the suspect confessed that his sponsors were operating from Kaara Market, Ajasepo, and Olayinka near Oke-Ode.
“We got intelligence that bandits from Baba Sango and Oro-Ago are spreading out to other parts of Kwara South.
One of their informants, disguised as a beggar, was caught in Igbaja yesterday.
He spilled that his sponsors are operating from Kaara Market, Ajasepo, and Olayinka near Oke-Ode.
He’s been handed over to Anti-Kidnapping Squad, AKS. Time for swift action,” Olaitan said.
Investigation Ongoing
The arrested informant has reportedly been handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS), as security agencies intensify operations across the area.
