Senator Ned Nwoko has dismissed recent claims made by his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, alleging that she has been denied access to their children.

Nwoko stated that Daniels’ absence from the children’s lives was by choice and guided by existing court directives, not due to any deliberate restriction imposed by him.

Court Ruling and Rehabilitation Order

In a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday by his communications team, Nwoko said the matter had already been addressed by a court.

According to him, the court ruled that Regina Daniels must undergo rehabilitation and an assessment by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access to the children can be restored.

He described Daniels’ recent social media posts as “misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practice.”

“The recent posts by Regina present a version of events that is both misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practice.

Publicly sharing moments involving the children has never been new, unusual, or controversial within the family,” the statement said.

The statement further added that suggestions she had been deliberately excluded from the children’s lives were “equally misleading.”

Focus on Children’s Welfare and Stability

Nwoko stressed that the children have always been raised in an environment centered on routine, emotional balance, and stability.

“Children deserve a parent who is emotionally present, mentally sound, and sober most of the time. This is not an unreasonable expectation; it is the minimum standard of care any parent owes their children,” the statement added.

Regina Daniels’ Emotional Appeal

The senator’s response followed a post shared by Regina Daniels on Monday, where she spoke openly about the emotional pain of being separated from her children.

She stated that no mother could be at peace under such circumstances and expressed optimism about reuniting with them soon.

“I may be young, but I am such a mum. I enjoy being a mum and I miss being a mum. I will definitely see my kids soon!” she wrote.

Adjournment and Call for Compliance

Nwoko further referenced the court’s decision, saying the ruling was resolved in his favour, with clear instructions that Daniels must comply with the rehabilitation and welfare assessment before access can be restored to their children, Munir (5) and Khalifa (3).

He added that the matter has been adjourned to February 4, 2026, for the hearing of the substantive suit.

The senator urged Regina Daniels to fully comply with the court’s directives, warning that continued online commentary risks “using the children as emotional shields to deflect from unresolved personal issues.”

Nwoko concluded by expressing hope that the period ahead would be used for recovery, healing, and resolution, rather than renewed public controversy.
