A Nigerian man has sparked intense reactions online after narrating how he legally reclaimed a business he funded for his wife after allegedly discovering infidelity, paternity fraud, and financial betrayal in their marriage.
The man, who shared his story in a lengthy post, said he decided to take legal steps after finding out that the two children he had been raising were not biologically his.
How the Marriage Trouble Started
According to his account, the issues began just a few months after their wedding in 2020, when his wife allegedly resigned from her job and chose to stay at home.
While he initially had no problem with the decision, he later became concerned about how the family would cope financially, especially because his work often required frequent travel.
He said they later agreed she should start a business buying and selling goods, and he committed everything he had to make it work.
“I Used My Car Money and Borrowed Another ₦5 Million”
The man claimed he had ₦5 million saved, originally meant for changing his car, but decided to invest it into the business.
He further alleged that he borrowed an additional ₦5 million from his workplace, with the loan set to be deducted from his salary over five years.
To keep up with the financial pressure, he said he even started doing Uber on weekends to support the loan deductions.
Doctor’s Revelation Allegedly Exposed the Hidden Truth
The man said the turning point came last year when his wife had what he believed was her third miscarriage.
However, he claimed that during the hospital visit, a doctor allegedly revealed that what he had been told were miscarriages were actually abortions.
According to him, the doctor confessed she had been bribed to keep quiet, but later felt guilty and decided to tell him the truth.
DNA Test Shocker: “The Two Children Are Not Mine”
Following the revelation, the man said he secretly carried out DNA tests on their two children and discovered that neither child was his.
He claimed the children belonged to his wife’s former partner, adding that she allegedly ensured pregnancies she believed were his were terminated.
The man said he became depressed but chose not to confront her immediately, instead gathering evidence quietly.
How He Took Back the Business
The man said he contacted a lawyer and was advised to check the ownership documents of the business.
To his surprise, he discovered the business was registered in his name, since he funded and purchased everything from the beginning.
He claimed his lawyer took legal steps, and the business was temporarily shut down, which was when his wife allegedly realized something was wrong.
When she confronted him, he said he revealed that he knew about the cheating and the DNA results.
According to him, she left the house that same day with the children and threatened to sue him for the business.
Court Battle: “We Won and I Got Back Everything”
The man claimed he presented receipts, bank statements, and other financial records in court.
He also alleged that the monthly money he had been sending her for upkeep was presented legally as “salary,” which strengthened his case.
He said the court eventually ruled in his favour, and he regained full control of the business — which he claimed had grown significantly over the years.
More Allegations: “She Was Sending Money to Her Boyfriend”
After gaining access to the business account records, the man alleged he discovered she had been sending money to her boyfriend for years.
He said he filed another legal action for alleged embezzlement and claimed he took the remaining money left in her account through the case.
Wife Reportedly Struggling After Boyfriend “Ran Away”
The man further claimed that after everything, his wife’s boyfriend allegedly fled to Cyprus with the money she had been sending him and blocked her.
He said her mother later contacted him, expressing fear for her mental health, but he recorded the call and forwarded it to his lawyer.
Nigerians React as Story Trends Online
The story has now triggered a wave of reactions, with many Nigerians debating whether the man’s actions were justified or too harsh.
While some applauded him for using legal means to protect himself, others expressed concern about the emotional and psychological impact on everyone involved — especially the children.
The man ended his post by asking Nigerians if they believe he went too far or if he simply did what was necessary.
