The newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has clarified that there is no animosity between him and former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
This was revealed by Prof. Pius Abioje, a professor of religion, in a video shared on TikTok. According to him, during a recent phone conversation, the Olubadan dismissed claims of a fallout.
Oba Ladoja reportedly said:
“Why should I be angry with Peter Obi calling me his brother and friend? Am I not his brother and friend?”
The monarch further emphasized a traditional saying: “Anyone who does not want to have a king as a friend would not want his friend to become a king.”
The clarification comes after criticisms from figures such as Reno Omokri and broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat, who berated Peter Obi for describing the Olubadan as a “brother.”
