A Chinese businessman known as Ross Boss has responded to allegations made by Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), after the latter publicly warned Nigerians against doing business with him.
In a viral video shared on his social media pages, VDM cautioned his followers not to engage in any form of transaction with Ross simply because of his association with him, hinting that the businessman’s actions had raised suspicion during their recent trips to China.
Ross Boss Responds to VeryDarkMan’s Claims
In a sharp rebuttal, Ross Boss — who deals in fairly used clothes (Okrika) — accused VeryDarkMan of being immature and unprofessional.
“You’re too childish, too immature. Ross thought you were a mature person,” he said in a video response. “You personally attack and defame a boss who’s willing to pay you and arrange everything for you.”
Ross denied all scam-related allegations, insisting that VDM fabricated the claims and lacked any real evidence.
‘I’ve Done Business With Nigerians for Eight Years’ — Ross
Ross went on to clarify that he has been in business with Nigerian and other African clients for nearly a decade and has never been accused of fraud or dishonesty.
“Before knowing you, I did business with Nigerian clients for eight years. They won’t stop working with Ross because of one video from you,” he said.
He further explained that most of the customers he met through VeryDarkMan were few and made minimal purchases, saying:
“No client would pay extra just because you’re VDM or like Ross. And no client would buy poor-quality goods because you said so.”
Ross Addresses Canton Fair Allegations
VDM also alleged that he helped Ross gain access to the Canton Fair — the popular China Import and Export Fair held in Guangzhou.
Ross, however, refuted this, stating that he paid for assistance and didn’t need VDM’s influence to attend.
“Ross pays everyone who helps me with anything. Four African friends took me to the Canton Fair, and I paid each of them $100,” he clarified.
“VDM, you said it’s because of your influence that Ross paid $100. Without your influence, I’d still pay $100.”
Ongoing Online Drama
The public exchange between the two former associates has sparked massive reactions on social media, with fans taking sides and debating who to believe.
While some Nigerians have applauded VDM for “exposing” Ross, others have criticized him for what they see as an unnecessary public confrontation.
For now, both parties appear determined to defend their reputations as the saga continues to unfold online.
