A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Seyi Makinde has entered into a political alliance with the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The two opposition parties formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a meeting held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to reports, Seyi Bamidele signed the agreement on behalf of the PDP faction, while Oladele Oyadeji signed for the APM.
Governor Makinde and APM National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle also appended their signatures to the agreement on behalf of both parties.
The development is being viewed as part of ongoing opposition realignments ahead of the next presidential election cycle.
The political collaboration comes amid growing conversations around coalition building among opposition figures seeking to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
Meanwhile, Governor Makinde reportedly declared his intention to join the 2027 presidential race during the political engagement.
Political observers say the move positions the Oyo State governor among early contenders being discussed ahead of the next general elections.
The latest alliance is expected to further intensify political calculations and negotiations within opposition circles as parties continue consultations ahead of 2027.
