Rapper Pooh Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., is pushing back against prosecutors’ efforts to keep him in custody while his criminal case is ongoing.

According to court documents, Williams Sr. argues that the case against him is weak and does not demonstrate that he poses any danger to the public if released pending trial. His legal team described the evidence presented so far as “profoundly underwhelming,” insisting there is no direct proof linking him to any alleged conspiracy.

The case stems from an incident involving Gucci Mane, which prosecutors claim took place on January 10 at a recording studio in Texas. Authorities allege that Williams Sr., his son Pooh Shiesty, and several others were involved in a kidnapping and robbery plot tied to a dispute over a music contract.

Prosecutors claim Williams Sr. travelled from Memphis to Dallas, booked the studio, and printed documents intended to release his son from a record deal. They also allege he was present at the location during the incident.

However, Williams Sr. disputes those claims, saying he travelled to Dallas earlier, on December 29, 2025, to care for his son, and that other defendants arrived weeks later. He also maintains that while he regularly books studio sessions for his son, there is no evidence he arranged anything related to the alleged crime.

His legal team further challenged claims that he printed any contract documents, stating prosecutors have not provided proof to support that allegation.

A judge has yet to decide whether Williams Sr. will remain in custody or be released as the case moves forward.
