Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has mocked former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, saying he is now facing the same justice system he once defended while in office.
The reaction followed Malami’s appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
A video circulating online showed Sowore confronting the former minister outside the court premises.
During the exchange, Sowore accused Malami of ignoring repeated warnings about weaknesses in Nigeria’s justice system during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Sowore, Malami had been confident and dismissive while serving in government, but is now experiencing the consequences of the same system.
He said there had long been failures in the justice sector, adding that the system is now turning against those who once overlooked its problems.
The video has generated reactions online, with supporters of both men debating accountability, governance, and the state of Nigeria’s legal institutions.
Malami served as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under Buhari’s administration from 2015 to 2023.
As of the time of this report, the former AGF had not publicly responded to Sowore’s remarks.
The reason for Malami’s court appearance was not immediately confirmed in the circulating clip.
