Suspected phone snatchers have attacked a 200-level student of Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau Campus, Bauchi State, leaving her with severe injuries.
The victim, identified as Maryam Yakeem, was reportedly assaulted in Gadau town, Itas Gadau Local Government Area, on April 23, 2026.
Eyewitnesses said the student was confronted by four attackers who demanded her mobile phone.
During the robbery, one of the suspects allegedly used a sharp weapon to sever two of her fingers and part of her ear before fleeing with the phone.
The attackers were also said to have taken two ATM cards belonging to the victim.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible.
