The Osun State Police Command has announced the deployment of security personnel across the state ahead of the Easter celebration, assuring residents of adequate protection during the festive period.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the command said measures have been put in place to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.
According to the police, officers have been strategically stationed at churches, recreational centres, major highways, and other public places to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
The command stated that the objective of the deployment is to ensure a peaceful and incident free Easter celebration across the state.
The Commissioner of Police has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical units to intensify surveillance and patrol activities.
He also instructed officers to maintain professionalism and respect in their interactions with members of the public while carrying out their duties.
Residents were advised to remain alert and report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.
The police also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and discourage any form of unlawful behaviour during the festive period.
Reaffirming its commitment to security, the command wished residents a peaceful and safe Easter celebration, describing the season as a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal.
