Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has reportedly escaped a life threatening incident after a fire broke out at his Lagos residence.
According to reports, the fire started on Saturday night following an explosion at the mansion, with members of his family said to be inside the building at the time.
Sources said the incident occurred around 9:35 pm shortly after the singer returned from a performance. The cause of the explosion has not been officially confirmed as of the time of this report.
No casualties have been reported, and prayers have continued to pour in from fans and well wishers who reacted to the incident online.
The development adds to a growing list of fire incidents involving public figures in recent times.
In previous cases, several celebrities have experienced similar situations, including content creator Peller, who reported a generator related fire at his residence, and actress Yetunde Bakare, who shared her experience surviving a petrol related fire outbreak.
Other personalities such as Laura Ikeji, Iyabo Ojo, Bose Alao, Mercy Aigbe, Bidemi Kosoko, Orezi, Small Doctor, and comedian AY have also reported fire incidents affecting their homes or businesses at different times.
Many of these incidents resulted in property damage, although several of those affected confirmed that no lives were lost.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of the fire at Mayorkun’s residence as investigations are expected to determine what led to the incident.
