I will give you N1 million Prophet Ayodele tells Busola Oke Kemi Filani blog 1536x1024 1 The NaijaWide News

Popular Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has announced a ₦1 million cash support for embattled gospel singer Busola Oke, following her recent emotional revelations about hardship and depression.

The development comes days after the singer, popularly known as Eleyele, opened up about her struggles in the gospel music industry and disclosed that she was considering quitting due to mounting financial and emotional pressure.

“I Was Lonely, Depressed and Hungry”

Busola Oke had earlier spoken during an interview with Biola Bayo, where she broke down in tears while explaining her current situation. According to her, she cried during a live video not to seek sympathy, but because she felt overwhelmed by loneliness, frustration and hunger.

The singer revealed that she currently has no car, is indebted to several people, and struggles daily to pay for her accommodation, which reportedly costs ₦55,000 per night. She admitted that despite her situation, asking people for help does not come naturally to her.

Prophet Ayodele’s Offer — With Conditions

Reacting to the interview, Prophet Ayodele publicly offered to gift Busola Oke ₦1 million, stating that the support was meant to help her stabilize. However, he attached a strict condition: she must come to his church on Sunday to receive the money.

In his words,

“What is the name of that one crying on the internet? Busola Eleyele, come to my church on Sunday and I will give you ₦1 million to support you. If you come after Sunday, I will not attend to you. I didn’t say you should come and sing for me, and I’m not doing this to impress anybody.”

The prophet added that he was no longer at a stage where he sought public approval, insisting the offer was sincere.

In 2023, Busola Oke made headlines after accusing a former associate, Gbenga Adewusi, of allegedly depriving her of earnings after she rejected his sexual advances. She claimed the ordeal left her financially ruined and forced her to sell personal assets.

Adewusi denied the allegations, insisting he supported her career without any romantic involvement and accused her of being responsible for her own challenges. The dispute sparked widespread debate within the gospel music community.

Busola Oke began her professional music career over two decades ago but rose to prominence in 2004 with the hit song Eleyele, which later became her stage name.

The song made her a household name across South-West Nigeria and cemented her place as one of the leading voices in Yoruba-language gospel and inspirational music, a genre with strong cultural and church-based support.
