Veteran entertainer and outspoken activist Charly Boy has shared a hilarious and revealing story about a past visit from former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Charly Boy made the disclosure while speaking on the KAA Truths podcast, where he recounted how Obi once showed up at his house carrying a large ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag—a sight that instantly raised eyebrows.
“My Brain Started Calculating” — Charly Boy Recounts Visit
According to Charly Boy, seeing Peter Obi arrive with the oversized bag immediately triggered suspicion about what it might contain.
He admitted that the bag’s appearance made him briefly think it could be filled with money, even though he stressed that Obi had no reason to influence him.
“When I saw the big Ghana Must Go bag, my brain started doing different calculations,” Charly Boy said.
“I was asking myself, ‘Abi he wan bribe me?’ But he didn’t need to, because I already believed in his vision.”
What Was Inside the Bag? Not What You Think
Charly Boy revealed that his assumptions were quickly cleared when Peter Obi disclosed the contents of the bag as he prepared to leave.
Rather than cash, the bag was reportedly packed with garden eggs and kola nuts.
“When he was about to go, he said, ‘I brought some small thing for you,’” Charly Boy recalled.
“As I opened the bag, what did I see? Anyara — garden eggs — and kola nuts full inside.”
The unexpected revelation left Charly Boy amused and impressed by Obi’s simplicity.
A Story That Got People Talking
The lighthearted anecdote has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users praising Peter Obi’s modest lifestyle and laughing at the irony of the infamous ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag being used to carry farm produce instead of cash.
