Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has alleged that terrorist groups have placed a bounty on his life following his public comments on attacks against Christians.
The cleric made the claim during a recent interview with Lucky Udu, where he said he was informed that plans had been concluded to reward anyone who kills him.
“They Have Put a Bounty on My Head”
According to Rev. Dachomo, an informant alerted him to the alleged plot after he openly condemned what he described as repeated attacks on Christian communities in parts of Plateau State and beyond.
“They have put a bounty on my head. They said anyone that kills me first will be rewarded,” he said.
Despite the alleged threats, the cleric insisted that he remains undeterred.
“I am not afraid of death. I walk past the territory of Muslims and they usually point at me,” he added.
Claims of Discrimination Against His Family
Rev. Dachomo further alleged that his outspoken stance has affected his family, claiming that his children have faced difficulties securing university admission, especially in northern institutions.
“If my children look for admission in the university, when they see the name Ezekiel Dachomo, they will remove it,” he said, alleging discrimination linked to his identity and views.
No Security Protection, Continues Advocacy
The cleric stated that he does not move with personal security despite the alleged threats, adding that he remains committed to speaking out against what he described as persecution of Christians.
Rev. Dachomo first gained national and international attention after calling on global leaders and organisations, including former U.S. President Donald Trump, to intervene in what he described as targeted violence against Christians in Nigeria.
Says He Has Documented Evidence
He also claimed to have compiled documented evidence to support his allegations, insisting that the materials clearly show patterns of attacks and persecution.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued any official response to the cleric’s claims.
