Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reaffirmed that his son will not be buried until the ongoing DNA test to determine the paternity of Mohbad’s son is concluded.
Aloba made the statement on Monday, December 2, while addressing journalists at the court premises ahead of the scheduled hearing on the DNA case.
Speaking firmly, he said:
“Today is the DNA court case. We are here now. My lawyer is here. I am telling the whole world that this is the most important thing and exactly what is delaying the burial of Mohbad. After the DNA is done, we can now move on to the burial aspect.”
Why the DNA Test Matters
Mohbad died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, sparking nationwide conversations, protests, and investigations.
A major point of dispute has been the paternity of the child he left behind, with Joseph Aloba openly questioning whether the boy is biologically Mohbad’s.
According to him, his doubts were influenced by claims that Mohbad once told him that his wife, Wunmi, allegedly cheated while they were still dating.
Court Decision Awaited
The court is expected to address the DNA issue as both families await closure ahead of Mohbad’s final burial.
