Media personality Lizzy has sparked conversation online after releasing a video accusing popular social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) of hypocrisy and unethical business practices.
In a viral TikTok video, Lizzy alleged that VDM — known for publicly exposing individuals and brands over fake products — is now allegedly involved in selling counterfeit iPhones imported from China.
“He’s Selling Phones Without iCloud” — Lizzy Claims
According to Lizzy, the phones being sold reportedly lack essential features such as iCloud functionality, with multiple customers allegedly returning them due to poor quality.
She questioned why someone who often calls out others for substandard products would allegedly engage in the same behaviour.
Calls Out VDM’s ‘Double Standards’
Lizzy also criticised VDM for previously attacking business owners, especially skincare brands, demanding certifications like NAFDAC approval while allegedly failing to uphold similar standards in his own dealings.
She described his alleged actions as contradictory to the image he has built as a defender of integrity.
Lizzy’s Statement (Paraphrased):
Lizzy alleged that:
-
VDM “ruined” some businesses by calling them out publicly, including skincare brand Jenny’s Glow.
-
Despite portraying himself as “Mr Integrity,” he is allegedly selling iPhones “that even Apple doesn’t recognise.”
-
Customers have reportedly been returning the phones “back-to-back.”
-
She questioned whether VDM has the necessary approvals or certifications to sell such products.
VDM Yet to Respond
As of the time of this report, VeryDarkMan has not publicly reacted to the allegations.
The video has continued to circulate widely on TikTok and X, generating mixed reactions from Nigerians — with some defending VDM and others calling for him to address the claims.
