Afro-soul singer and songwriter Ayola has released his first-ever featured track titled “Bout U”, featuring Amakah, a rising singer, songwriter and performer.

The single marks Ayola’s first release since his sophomore album, The Life I Want, which debuted in October 2024. The Canada-based artiste, born Abdullah Abubakr, announced the new song on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, alongside its official music video.

“Bout U” signals the beginning of Ayola’s next creative era and serves as the lead offering from his upcoming album, Omolari. The track captures the emotional tension between longing and uncertainty-two people trying to define what they mean to each other even as they hesitate to name it.

Produced by Shalom Ogheneochuko, popularly known as Killashay, the record blends warm guitar arrangements, intimate vocals and conversational delivery, giving it the feel of a private, heartfelt exchange. As the first glimpse into Ayola’s forthcoming album, it reflects themes of affection, vulnerability and quiet courage.

Originally from Osun State and raised in Ilorin, Kwara State, Ayola grew up surrounded by music, often singing at home and absorbing the timeless Afro-juju sound of King Sunny Ade on family road trips.

He made his debut in 2020 with the cinematic EP Scum, released under Soul City Music Co-op, an artist-owned label in Windsor, Ontario. The project explored the complexities of modern relationships and paved the way for his studio album Conversations Till Dawn (CtillD), released the following year.

With “Bout U”, his first official feature, Ayola invites listeners deeper into his evolving sound-promising a nostalgic yet refreshing blend of soul, affection and storytelling that will resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
