Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared a shocking testimony of how a poisoned meal nearly caused tragedy in their home on New Year’s Day.
Fondly known as Mummy G.O., the respected cleric narrated the frightening experience during a recent church service, revealing that it was divine discernment that saved her family from harm.
A Suspicious Food Gift
According to Pastor Folu Adeboye, the incident took place on January 1st, when relatives and friends had gathered at their residence to mark the beginning of the year.
She recounted that someone had brought food to their home, but the moment she entered the kitchen and saw it, she felt a deep unease.
“Someone brought food to our house on New Year’s Day when many people were around. The moment I saw it, my spirit was troubled, and I knew something wasn’t right,” she said.
Divine Prompting Averted Disaster
Acting on what she described as a divine warning, she instructed that the food should not be served to anyone. Instead, she asked that it be fed to the family’s dog.
Moments later, her fears were confirmed.
“I told them to give the food to the dog. About an hour later, the gateman came to tell me that the dog had died,” she revealed.
“God Saved Us from a Disaster”
Expressing gratitude to God, Pastor Folu Adeboye said the incident was a reminder that believers must stay spiritually alert and sensitive to divine guidance.
“It could have been a disaster if anyone had eaten that food. We must always listen when God warns us,” she added.
