Afrobeats superstar Davido has finally reacted to reports of a heated moment in court during his custody dispute over his daughter, Imade.
Earlier reports claimed the singer had an outburst during proceedings, but Davido has now dismissed several narratives as false, clarifying that he never asked for full custody.
“I Asked for Joint Custody”
According to Davido, his goal was simply to secure shared parenting rights.
“I never asked for full custody… I asked for joint custody. Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade… so I don’t know why some people are celebrating… there’s nothing to celebrate.”

What Triggered His Reaction
Davido revealed that tensions escalated after the opposing lawyer allegedly referenced his late son, Ifeanyi, in court.
He described it as:
“The lowest blow.”
The singer said the mention of his deceased child deeply hurt him and triggered his emotional response.
Davido Withdraws Case
Despite everything, Davido said he has now decided to withdraw the custody case completely.
“My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her… let’s move on. One love!”
The statement has since sparked massive reactions online, with many fans urging both parties to focus on Imade’s wellbeing.
