IMG 9318Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has cried out over the alleged piracy and demonetisation of her movie Where Love Lives, publicly accusing a Lagos-based individual of unlawfully claiming ownership of a song used in the film.

The actress made the allegation via a social media post, where she identified the individual as Emmanuel Davis of LagosSounds, accusing him of falsely asserting copyright ownership over a song created exclusively for the movie.

Bimbo Ademoye speaks on alleged copyright abuse

According to Ademoye, the song in question was composed by an artist named Uzor strictly for Where Love Lives and was deliberately never released publicly to avoid piracy issues.

She alleged that the song was later uploaded online without permission, after which the individual claimed copyright ownership and reportedly took control of the film’s monetisation. This, she said, resulted in her movie being demonetised while another party earned revenue from it without authorisation.

Ademoye stressed that she would never claim what does not belong to her and vowed to pursue the matter until accountability is achieved.

The actress further alleged that another individual, identified as Anwuli, was responsible for copyright issues that led to her losing revenue from a different movie which had garnered over six million views.

She revealed that attempts were made to resolve the issue privately, but she rejected an out-of-court settlement, insisting that the matter must be addressed through proper legal channels.

Bimbo Ademoye’s outcry has sparked conversations online about content piracy, copyright abuse, and the challenges faced by filmmakers in protecting their intellectual property in the digital space.IMG 9320 IMG 9321
