The Rivers State Ministry of Education has directed all public and private primary and secondary schools across Rivers State to resume for the second term on Monday, in line with the approved academic calendar.
The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, who urged parents, guardians, and education stakeholders to disregard rumours and misleading information on social media suggesting an alternative resumption date.
Compliance with Approved Academic Calendar
The ministry reaffirmed that all schools operating in Rivers State are required to strictly adhere to the 2025/2026 academic calendar approved by the state government and resume as scheduled.
Sanctions for Defaulters
The statement warned that appropriate sanctions would be imposed on any school—public or private—that fails to comply with the resumption directive.
Parents and guardians were advised to ensure their wards return to school promptly to avoid disruption to academic activities.
