Controversial Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has opened up on a deeply emotional experience that has left social media in shock, revealing how she was arrested by police while breastfeeding her newborn baby boy.

The actress, who recently made headlines after reconciling with her ex-husband at a burial ceremony, accused popular cleric Pastor Chris Okafor of allegedly using the police to harass her amid their ongoing feud.

“They Didn’t Care I Had Just Given Birth”

Speaking emotionally, Doris Ogala disclosed that she was arrested barely one month after giving birth, a period she said should have been treated with compassion and understanding.

According to her, police officers stormed her residence and arrested her without considering that she was still nursing her baby.

“They came to my house and took me away. I was separated from my baby. My sister had to buy milk for him,” she said.

The actress lamented that her son, who was still dependent on breast milk, was forced to drink formula due to her sudden detention.

Arrest Happened During a Livestream

Recall that Doris Ogala was arrested on December 20, 2025, while she was actively participating in a livestream interview.

Midway into the session, she reportedly noticed the presence of police officers and confirmed live on camera that they had come for her, a moment that quickly went viral online.

Pastor Chris Okafor Apologises — But Controversy Continues

Following public outrage, Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Liberation City, later tendered a dramatic public apology.

In a widely circulated video, the cleric was seen kneeling before his congregation, saying:

“I am sorry to everyone I have offended, to Doris Ogala also. I say sorry and apologize to everyone that I’ve offended.”

While Doris Ogala accepted the apology, she expressed displeasure over Okafor’s insistence that her allegations were false, stating that the apology felt incomplete.

What Started the Feud?

The controversy reportedly began after Doris Ogala accused Pastor Chris Okafor of breaching a promise to marry her, an allegation that sparked intense public debate.

She later escalated the matter by filing a ₦1 billion lawsuit against the pastor, citing:

  • Emotional distress
  • Reputational damage
  • Breach of trust

Public Reactions

The revelation of her arrest while breastfeeding has triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the use of law enforcement in personal disputes, especially involving a nursing mother.

Others have called for:

  • Greater protection for postpartum women
  • Clear boundaries between civil disputes and criminal enforcement
  • Accountability for abuse of police power

As the legal battle continues, one thing is certain:

Doris Ogala’s story has reopened conversations about power, influence, and the treatment of women in vulnerable moments.
