IMG 9076A Nigerian lady has stirred intense reactions on social media after openly criticising what she described as the rising baby mama culture in the country.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @it_Ruth, the woman cautioned young Nigerian women against having children for men they are not married to, stressing that marriage should come before motherhood.

According to her, many women end up in emotionally draining and unstable situations by giving birth outside wedlock, often based on wealth, fame, or unfulfilled promises.

“Nigerian girls, we need to put an end to this baby mama madness,” she said. “If a man is not your husband, please don’t get pregnant for him.”

She further emphasised that a man’s social status or financial strength should not influence such life-changing decisions, insisting that commitment matters more than money or celebrity.

The lady went on to make a bold declaration, saying she would refuse to have a child for Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, or Grammy-winning singer Wizkid, if marriage was not involved.

“Even if it’s Dangote or Wizkid, I will say no,” she stated.

Explaining her stance, she argued that many men are willing to have children but are often reluctant to commit to marriage afterward.

“Most men don’t want to marry a baby mama,” she added. “No ring, no baby. If you’re not his wife, don’t have a child for him.”

Her comments have since divided opinions online, with some social media users applauding her for speaking boldly and promoting self-respect, while others countered that marriage does not automatically guarantee stability, commitment, or happiness.

The video continues to generate conversations across platforms as Nigerians debate modern relationships, marriage, and parenthood.
