Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has said that despite alleged opposition and conspiracies against him, his faith and what he described as divine intervention played a key role in his rise to national leadership.
Musa made the remarks while sharing a personal testimony during a recent worship service at Conquerors Global Assembly in Abuja, where he reflected on challenges he faced before his elevation.
“God Lifted Me Up”
According to the Defence Minister, difficult moments in his life ultimately became a turning point, which he attributed to God’s intervention.
“We give God the glory for what has happened this year. Even when the enemy thought they were putting us down, they did not know God was going to lift us up,” Musa said.
He added that those who allegedly conspired against him underestimated the outcome, stressing that faith remained central to his perseverance.
“In their small minds they conspired and thought they had won. But as long as you have God as your pillar, you will win,” he stated.
Message of Encouragement
Musa encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in faith, noting that challenges are often necessary for growth and progress.
“If you are never challenged, you can never improve in life,” he said, while also calling on Nigerians to remain united and prayerful.
“As Nigerians, we know we are strong, but we are stronger together with God Almighty. Nigerians are winners. We must continue to pray for our leaders and our country,” he added.
Appointment as Defence Minister
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominated Christopher Musa as Minister of Defence on December 2, forwarding his name to the Senate for confirmation. He was appointed to replace Mohammed Badaru, who stepped down from the position due to health-related reasons.
Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, has since assumed the role amid ongoing security challenges across the country.
The remarks have sparked reactions online, with supporters describing his testimony as inspirational, while others view it as a reflection of the personal pressures faced by public office holders in Nigeria.
