
Governors of the South-West region have convened in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for a crucial meeting on the rising security challenges affecting the zone.
The meeting, which commenced on Monday afternoon, has in attendance Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Governor Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti).
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adeusi.
According to reports, the emergency gathering was summoned to review the security situation across South-West states and discuss coordinated measures to protect residents and enhance safety.
Confirming the development, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Makinde, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, told DAILY POST that the meeting began with all governors present except Adeleke, who sent his deputy.
“The meeting has started. All the governors are in attendance except Governor Adeleke, who is represented by his deputy,” he said.
The outcome of the deliberations is expected to be made public after resolutions are reached.
