The Lagos State Police Command has declared Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore wanted for allegedly planning to incite public unrest and obstruct key roads within the state.
Police Accuse Sowore of Coordinating Protest Plans
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, made the announcement on Monday while addressing journalists at the Iyana-Oworo end of the Third Mainland Bridge.
According to him, security intelligence suggested that Sowore and some associates were mobilizing to stage coordinated demonstrations at strategic points, including Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park.
He warned that the Command would not tolerate any attempt to destabilize public peace or disrupt movement across the state.
Police Issue Ultimatum
“Sowore should report himself at the nearest police station or be arrested wherever he is found,” the Police Commissioner stated.
“Anyone attempting to cause disturbance or block major roads will face the full weight of the law,” he added.
The Command assured residents that adequate measures are in place to maintain law and order across Lagos, urging citizens to go about their normal activities without fear.
