Popular rapper and human rights activist Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign, following the abduction of more than 100 students in Niger State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of November 21, when armed men invaded St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, kidnapping dozens of students and members of staff.
Security Agencies Launch Rescue Operation
The Niger State Police Command confirmed the attack, revealing that tactical police units, military personnel, and other security outfits have begun a coordinated search across surrounding forests in an effort to rescue the victims.
Authorities also criticized the school for reopening without government authorization, noting that an earlier security advisory had warned institutions in the area to suspend academic activities.
Falz Blasts Tinubu, Says Nigerians Are No Longer Safe
Reacting to the tragic incident, Falz accused the federal government of failing to protect its citizens and called on President Tinubu to step down immediately.
According to him, the recurring abductions, widespread violence, and rising insecurity show that the administration has lost control.
Falz wrote:
“YOU HAVE FAILED WOEFULLY @officialABAT.
TENDER YOUR RESIGNATION NOW!”
Public Reactions Trail Falz’s Statement
Social media users have weighed in on the rapper’s demand, with many expressing frustration over the nation’s worsening security situation.
One user, @Donxab, commented:
“Sir, with all due respect, resignation is too merciful. People need to be in prison for criminal negligence. How do you sleep when schools are now kidnapping farms?”
Another user, @Elow_vin, added:
“If he resigns, will his whole cabinet go too? They all need to leave because what is happening in this country is really messy.”
Conclusion
The latest mass abduction has once again ignited national outrage over insecurity, with many Nigerians calling for urgent reforms and stronger action.
Falz’s bold call for resignation has intensified debate online as families and citizens anxiously await updates on the rescue efforts.
