U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a permanent halt to migration from all Third World countries to the United States. The announcement was made on his social media platform, Truth Social, citing the need to allow the U.S. immigration system to “fully recover.”
Trump emphasized that his decision is also aimed at terminating what he described as “millions of illegal admissions” made under the administration of former President Joe Biden.
“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions,” he wrote.
This announcement follows Trump’s previous warnings to Nigeria regarding alleged Christian genocide, where he threatened to withdraw U.S. aid, including USAID funding, if the Nigerian government failed to curb attacks on Christian communities.
In Nigeria, the security situation remains a major concern. Notably, a recent attack occurred on November 18, 2025, at Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, in Kwara State. Gunmen stormed the church during an evening service, killing three people and abducting 38 congregants. The victims were later released, as confirmed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on X (formerly Twitter).
Trump’s latest policy underscores his administration’s hardline stance on migration and security, and it comes amid global debates over U.S. immigration priorities and humanitarian responsibilities.
