Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, has emerged victorious in the 2025 Anambra governorship election, maintaining a commanding lead across the state.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo secured 422,664 votes, while his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 99,445 votes. Other candidates’ results include:

  • African Democratic Congress (ADC) – 8,208 votes
  • Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – 1,401 votes

APGA Dominance in Anambra

The results highlight APGA’s continued influence, with Soludo leading in all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs), securing the governorship on his second attempt.

The State Collation Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, officially announced the results following the collation exercise on Sunday at INEC’s headquarters in Awka.

According to the commission, over 99% of results were uploaded to the INEC IREV portal, allowing Nigerians to track the election outcome in real time.

Significance of the Victory

Soludo’s win is not only a personal triumph but also a reaffirmation of APGA’s enduring influence in Anambra politics. For voters, it signals the continuation of policies and initiatives that have shaped governance in the state, consolidating APGA’s political dominance.
