
Nigeria’s Afrobeats superstars have once again made history as the 2026 Grammy Awards nominations roll out — with Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Omah Lay leading the charge.
The nominations, announced on Friday evening, underline the unstoppable global influence of Nigerian music and its stars.
Nigeria Takes Over the Global Stage
In the Best African Music Performance category, Davido and Omah Lay earned nods for their chart-topping collaboration “With You,” marking Omah Lay’s first-ever Grammy nomination.
They’ll face strong competition from fellow Nigerian powerhouses Burna Boy with “Love,” and Ayra Starr & Wizkid for their joint hit “Gimme Dat.”
Other contenders in the category include Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love” and Tyla’s “PUSH 2 START.”
Burna Boy Scores Double Nominations
Already a Grammy winner, Burna Boy continues his international dominance with another nod for Best Global Music Album for his project “No Sign of Weakness.”
He will compete alongside:
