Popular social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has publicly called out businessman and crypto investor Blord for allegedly trying to scam Nigerians by selling a refurbished iPhone XR as the newly released iPhone 17 Pro.
“Upgraded” iPhone XR Claimed as iPhone 17 Pro
The controversy started after Blord posted a video on Instagram unboxing what he described as an “upgraded iPhone XR.” He claimed it had been transformed to look like the iPhone 17 Pro, complete with similar icons, casing, and interface.
Blord reportedly contacted an associate in China to modify the phones and announced that he had two units available — each priced at ₦400,000.
VDM Fires Back
In response, VeryDarkMan accused Blord of inflating prices and misleading Nigerians.
“Blord, I think you forgot that I’m in China. Why do you want to extort Nigerians? All in the name of business, you want to make so much profit,” VDM said in his viral post.
The Real Cost
VDM claimed the supposed “iPhone 17 Pro” is actually an upgraded iPhone XR, which could be purchased in China for ₦280,000, including shipping and delivery to Nigeria.
“Nigerians, this phone that Blord is selling for ₦450,000 is actually ₦280,000 plus delivery anywhere in Nigeria,” he added.
The video quickly went viral, sparking heated conversations across social media about fake tech, influencer marketing, and honesty in business.
