At 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to redefine what’s possible in football. The Portuguese superstar, currently starring for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, remains at the top of his game — stronger, sharper, and more motivated than ever.
With 1,000 career goals in his sights, Ronaldo is just 51 strikes away from reaching a milestone that would further cement his status as one of the greatest athletes in sporting history.
Ronaldo’s Secret Weapon: Sleep and Discipline
In a new interview shared by WHOOP, Ronaldo revealed that consistent, quality sleep is the foundation of his longevity and world-class performance.
“Sleep is the most important tool that I have,” Ronaldo explained. “I’m consistent with my bedtime and wake-up time — I sleep around 11 or 12 and wake up at 8:30. It’s my routine. It’s probably the most important thing we have for our health span.”
Known for his exceptional discipline, Ronaldo’s career has always been defined by precision and balance — from diet and recovery to training and rest.
Chasing History: The Road to 1,000 Goals
Since his move to Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has been unstoppable — scoring 105 goals in 118 appearances and winning back-to-back Saudi Pro League Golden Boots.
This season alone, he has already netted five goals in five games, proving that age is no obstacle to his ambition.
Former teammate Danny Simpson recently said it best:
“As long as he’s scoring and stays injury-free, I wouldn’t bet against him. Ronaldo wants 1,000 goals — and he might just do it.”
A Dream to Play Alongside His Son
Ronaldo has often spoken about one of his personal dreams — to share the pitch with his son, Cristianinho, who is already showcasing talent in Al-Nassr’s youth academy.
“When I was his age, I was smaller and weaker,” Ronaldo shared. “He’s bigger and stronger now. If he has the same hunger, he can go far. Hunger is the hardest thing.”
While Ronaldo insists it’s not an obsession, he admits it would be a “special moment” if that dream came true.
Still Leading Al-Nassr to Glory
Beyond personal milestones, Ronaldo remains focused on team success. Partnering with compatriot João Félix, he continues to drive Al-Nassr’s campaign at home and in continental competitions.
The club faces Al-Hazm this weekend, and all eyes will be on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as he edges closer to another chapter of football history.
