Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, formerly the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force. He succeeds Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command following a promotion .
Authorities characterize the move as a routine administrative adjustment aimed at career development and manpower optimization, not a punitive or controversial decision .
CSP Hundeyin is well-qualified for the role, holding a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan . He also completed specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army’s Leadership Institute in Jaji. His professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) .
With prior experience serving in the UN-AU Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Hundeyin has a robust background in international peacekeeping and crisis communication . Since March 2022, he has earned commendation for his proactive media engagement and efforts to strengthen police-community relations as Lagos State PRO .
In his new role, CSP Hundeyin is expected to lead the Force’s national communications strategy, enhance institutional transparency, and foster public trust through improved messaging and crisis management. An official handover ceremony is anticipated soon at the Force Headquarters in Abuja
