Woven Whispers Art Exhibition set to showcase six exceptional artists in Ilorin
The Woven Whispers Art Exhibition 2023 is set to open from March 4 to 10, 2023, at the Kwara State Arts & Culture Centre, Sawmill Garage, Ilorin, offering free access to members of the public.
The event will feature the works of six emerging visual artists who explore themes of power, texture, silence, and form.
Organisers say the exhibition aims to bring the public into a space “where art speaks in intricate whispers,” highlighting diverse artistic expressions and storytelling through visual forms.
The participating artists include Hauwa Musa, Oyindamola Abdulkadir, Silvy Omoge, Iyabo Rasak, Maryam Akanni, and Divine Okeke.
The exhibition will open with a reception, during which visitors will have first access to view the artworks on display. An artist meet-and-greet session will allow guests to interact with the creators behind the works.
Other major highlights include an art auction, where collectors and enthusiasts can purchase original pieces, and a community dialogue and networking session to encourage conversations around art, culture, and creativity.
According to the organisers, the exhibition is designed as more than a display of artworks. It is a “collective narrative and a tapestry of individual expressions meant to inspire reflection and dialogue.”
Members of the public are encouraged to attend, as admission remains completely free.
